Dry Hair & Scalp?

Last night, I mixed a few drops of Pericarp Oil in with my Juni Conditioner (be careful you don’t add too much oil if you have blonde or bleached hair). I rubbed it into my scalp and hair and let it sit overnight. I woke up to incredibly soft and shiny hair (that was still manageable). I can’t get over the many ways th…at these products can be used! Keep experimenting and pass on your stories… :-)

I was wondering about Pericarp for hair, I am a ‘longhair’ and we are forever looking for a good oil for our ends, to keep splitting and dryness away, as well as massaging into roots for hair growth.

You did not mention if you washed this out, or used it as a ‘leave in’?

Further, could you use the Pericarp ‘straight”?

Could you please provide some further details. I had emailed my upline about this, and then found this blog!!

    Thank you in advance!!

    Hi Kimberly,
Yes, I do think the Pericarp Oil would make an excellent split end and scalp treatment. However, a word of caution, if your hair is bleached, blond, or just really light than the Pericarp Oil could cause it to go very “brassy”. The Pericarp Oil is very pigmented (as you probably know), so I would definitely use caution when applying or recommending it for certain hair colors. Less is probably better when first starting out with it and know how your hair responds. Plus, the Pericarp Oil is very potent, so as a general rule.. a little goes a long way! You could use it as an overnight hair treatment, add it into your conditioner, or however you find works best for you. I would just experiment and see how you prefer to use it. I think for some individuals it could definitely weigh their hair down or make it a little greasy when used as a leave in. But, that’s totally individual preference. If you find a way to use it that you, personally, find works really well… please please share it with us! We are always looking for and happy to hear personal testimonies. Thanks for visiting the Glimpse Blog; don’t hesitate to ask us any questions you may have. Good luck! :-)

    Dear Jessica;
how do I get in touch with Beverly. I have a request from one of my oncologist drs. about the pericarp oil and the Glimpse moisturizing cream. I need to get in touch with her ASAP. I belong to twitter but don’t really know how to use it. Are there any plans to formulate the Pericarp oil and the moisturizing cream together. Dr T taught me how to put the Jc. and a compound cream together for my radiation burns on my throat at the time of my cancer. Today you can hardly see any scar from my very radical surgery there. Drs. want to know what I used and can they get some to try on their pts. I don’t know how to mix it and take it to them. I need some advice here

    Hi Jessica,
I have been using glimpse complete set for 3 months now. I find my skin more smoother and brighter but I have melia “oil seeds” so I stop using the creamy cleanser and creamy moisturizer because I find it oily so I stop using it. After using the creamy moisturizer, my face sweats profusely. Please advise.
I am 54yrs old from Malaysia and our weather these days is very humid.

Thank you and hear from you soon.

    Hi Jessica,
My daughter just had a major surgery and was cut from just under her ear lobe to about the middle of her neck. There will eventually be a wrinkle there but not for some time. I believe the pericarp oil, perhaps mixed with the serum would keep it from becoming a scar. She does not use our products yet. Can you make a suggestion I can forward to her and somewhere she can see result pictures? Thank you

  11. Jessica Jessica says:

    Hi Lora,
I sent you an e-mail at the e-mail you provided on your profile. I thought it best I address your concerns through a personal e-mail so that I am better able to work with you closely (and so that you will have all my contact info.). Thank you for your question. I wish your daughter all the best!

iAM USING GIMPSES WHOLE LINE, AND I REALLY LIKE IT.AFTER AFTER I WASH MY FACE MY SKIN TURNS RED.ALSO WANTED TO KNOW HOW YOU FELL ABOUT RETIN A,I HAVE A FEEL WINKLES AROUNG MY EYES AND CHIN,AND WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT MIXING ALITTLE A WITH THE OIL….THANK YOU SHARON

  14. Jessica Jessica says:

    Hi Sharon,
Thank you for submitting your questions and your support of the Glimpse Blog! What you are experiencing is a very “normal” reaction for those whom use Glimpse. That flushing is an increase in circulation. This is actually a very healthy response, as good circulation is critical for long term skin health. However, if you would like to lesson these effects and try to minimize the flush, than their are certainly things that you may do and adjustments that can be made to help with this. I would be happy to offer some suggestions or work with you on an individualized regimen, if you would like me to. Please contact me at the below email address (as that is probably a better forum for exchanging this type of information). Now, as far as Retin-A goes, if you are currently using it and enjoying the benefits, than you should keep on using it. I think that mixing it with the oil or Moisturizing Cream is a great idea (especially if your skin is dry). Just be careful you don’t get it too close to the eye (as you don’t want it to run into your eyes). Let me know if you have any further questions, and again, don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like me to work with you on further regimen suggestions. Thank you!

Hi Jessica, a friend of mine with very sensitive skin and a chronic redness on her face is trying some Glimpse samples (of the System 1). I encouraged her to just try one product at a time since she is so sensitive. She had a facial flush for about 45 minutes and the next day she tried the moisture cream, but she used her other brand of facial cleanser. She had more of a redness reaction and I wondered if mixing the Glimpse with her older products might be adding more stress to her skin? I am very new to Glimpse (just 2 weeks) so I don’t know have a lot of experience yet helping someone with sensitive skin. I don’t know exactly how to recommend that she try the products. One person recommended that she just use the cleanser for a week. She has very sensitive skin and she lives in Malaysia and she found the cream cleanser a bit oily. I appreciate any feedback you may have so I can help her! Thanks so much.

Excellent question! Your instincts are absolutely correct, introducing one product at a time is a terrific suggestion. This not only allows the skin to gradually acclimate to the product (without responding as strongly) but it also helps to better determine which products somebody is sensitive to. This doesn’t mean that she still might not experience some redness or flushing (especially if she has sensitive skin). However, I do think it is probably a good rule of thumb to have her start with a Cleanser first (preferably the Gel Cleanser) and incorporate that for 7-10 days before incorporating any additional products. I would probably still have her still use her previous moisturizer in conjunction with the Glimpse Cleanser unless she has oily skin and could get by without one (which it sounds like she may). We don’t want the skin to have to compensate for the lack of additional moisture it may need. Anyway, I hope this all makes sense? Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or if you need any further clarification. Thank you!

Thank you so much Jessica for your helpful reply. I have a related question about this, from my own experience with the products. Because Glimpse products are so active, is it possible to get skin reactions from combining them with other products? Or, do the other products affect how Glimpse works?

I’m still experimenting with this myself. I have very sensitive skin and have been using the products for a few weeks now. So far I get the best results by using Glimpse once per day in the morning (all four of the system 1).

If I use my old moisture cream at night, I notice that my pores get clogged again, and then I have to use the old masks and exfoliators. If I just use Glimpse, the pores don’t get clogged, but I’m only able to use it once a day right now.

I have experimented also with using the moisture lotion from system 2 which seems to have some exfoliation properties, however I won’t have access to more of that for a while. Thank you again Jessica for sharing your expertise with us!

  18. Jessica Jessica says:

Yes, I can definitely see how this could happen when combining products. While I generally suggest that one slowly “wean off” of their previous products, this does not mean that some will not be able to go “cold-turkey” and switch over all at once. If you are one of those individuals who are able to do so; please do! In fact, that is terrific! Using Glimpse one time a day, to start with, is just fine. If this is how your skin is responding best than continue with what is working for you. I applaud you for really experimenting and finding out what works for you and your skin. Thank you for sharing your observations and feedback… :-)
